Move your logbook from Subsurface
Subsurface keeps your logbook in an open file Diveology reads as it is.
1. Find your Subsurface logbook
Subsurface saves your logbook as a file ending in .ssrf (or .xml). In Subsurface, File, Save as shows where it is; save a copy to your Desktop if that is easier. If you keep your logbook in Subsurface's cloud storage, open it in Subsurface and use File, Save as to save a local copy.
You can also use File, Export and choose UDDF; both work.
2. Import it into Diveology
- Sign in to Diveology and open Import.
- Drop the file onto the page, or click to choose it.
- Check what was found, then choose Import.
What comes across from Subsurface
- Dives: number, date and time, depth, duration, temperatures, rating, notes and tags
- Profiles: depth, temperature and pressure for each cylinder, and gas changes, from the first dive computer on each dive
- Cylinders: size, working pressure, start and end pressure, and gas
- Dive sites: name and GPS, with country, region and place where you set them
- Trips, buddies and divemasters, and the total weight you carried
What happens when you import
In Diveology, open Import and drop the file in (or choose it). It is read on your device first: you see how many dives, sites and pieces of kit it holds, the date range, which dives are new and which are already in your logbook. Nothing is uploaded until you choose Import. Then the new dives go in, a batch at a time, and your sites are matched by name, country and distance so the same reef is not added twice.
Importing the same file again adds nothing: each dive keeps the reference it had in the file, and a dive downloaded by two apps is recognised by its start time and depth.
Diveology for iPhone is on its way
Your online logbook and this website come with the app. Until it is in the App Store, by invitation.
