Dive computers

Dive computers that work with Diveology

Two ways in: download straight from the computer over Bluetooth with Diveology for iPhone, or import the dives another app already has.

Download over Bluetooth Premium With the iPhone app

Diveology for iPhone downloads from 115 Bluetooth dive computer models from 21 makers. It uses libdivecomputer, the open-source library many dive logs rely on, including Subsurface. Put the computer in its Bluetooth or transfer mode, choose Download from a dive computer, and the new dives come across with their profiles, tanks and gases. Only dives newer than the last download are read, so it is quick, and it works on the boat with no signal.

Import from the app you use now Premium

Any computer works with Diveology if its dives can reach MacDive, Subsurface or another app that exports UDDF, the open dive log format. Import that file and every dive comes across with its profile, tanks, gases and site.

  • MacDive: export UDDF or MacDive XML. Step by step.
  • Subsurface: free for Mac, Windows and Linux, and it downloads from a long list of computers over USB and Bluetooth. Import its .ssrf file. Step by step.
  • Any app that writes UDDF: look in its Export menu. How to import UDDF.

Already logged it? Nothing is added twice

Import your history first, then download from your computer: a downloaded dive that is already in your logbook (the same start within two minutes and the same depth) is not added again. It only fills in what the logged dive lacks, such as the profile, the water temperature or the tank pressures, and Diveology shows what each download would add before you choose.

Questions

Does Diveology work with my Shearwater?

Yes: Diveology for iPhone downloads over Bluetooth from the Shearwater Nerd 2, Perdix, Perdix 2, Perdix 3, Perdix AI, Peregrine, Peregrine TX, Petrel 2, Petrel 3, Teric, Tern, Tern TX. It is part of Premium: tap + on your logbook, then Download from a dive computer.

Does Diveology work with my Suunto?

The Suunto D5, EON Core, EON Steel, EON Steel Black download over Bluetooth to Diveology for iPhone. For other Suunto models, download the dives with Subsurface over USB and import its file.

My computer is not on the list. Can I still use Diveology?

Very likely. If its dives can get into MacDive, Subsurface or any app that exports UDDF, Diveology imports that file, profiles included. Or write to us with the model at support@diveology.com.au.

Do I need signal on the boat?

No. The download is between your dive computer and your iPhone over Bluetooth, and the dives go into the logbook on your phone. They sync to your account when you are back online.

Will a download add dives I already imported?

No. A downloaded dive that matches one in your logbook (the same start within two minutes and the same depth) is not added again: it only fills in what the logged dive lacks, such as its profile, temperatures or tank pressures, and changes nothing you entered.

Why can my iPhone not download from my older computer?

An iPhone can only talk to dive computers over Bluetooth LE. Computers that connect by cable, infrared or older Bluetooth need a computer: download them with Subsurface or the maker's app, then import the file.

Log straight from your dive computer

Dive computer downloads and imports come with Premium, the first week free. Diveology for iPhone is coming soon to the App Store.
