One scan logs the dive with your dive centre
After the dive, scan your dive centre's code. Diveology fills in the centre, the boat, your guide or instructor and the dive site, right there on the boat, even with no signal.
Less typing after every dive FreeWith the iPhone app
Back on the boat, wet and cold, nobody wants to type in the operator, the boat, the guide's name and the site. Your dive centre has a code for the trip. Scan it, check what it fills in, and your logbook is done.
Open your dive
Log the dive as usual, or download it from your dive computer, then open it in Diveology.
Scan the centre's code
Choose Scan the centre's code on the dive, or simply point the iPhone Camera at the code.
Check it and log it
You see the centre with Diveology's tick and exactly what will be filled in. Tap Log it.
Why divers like it
The details, right first time
The centre's own names for itself, its boat and its people, and the site from the dive site directory, with its position.
Works out of range
Everything is in the code, so it works on the boat with no signal. Your logbook syncs later, as it always does.
Only the real thing
Every code is signed by Diveology. A genuine centre shows a tick; anything else is refused.
Your instructor on the dive
On a course, your instructor's name goes on the dive with their role, as your training record needs.
Your dive stays yours
It fills in only what is empty, and you can change anything afterwards. Nothing else changes.
Private
The centre sees how many dives were logged with it, never who logged them, and nothing from your logbook.
Your name on every customer's dive
A free Diveology account for your dive centre, and a code for every trip that your divers scan to log the dive with you. Every logbook that records the dive names your centre, your boat and your guide.
Apply, free
Apply for a dive centre account. We check your business, your website and an email at your own domain, usually within a few days.
Make a code for the trip
In your partner portal, on a phone or a computer: the boat, the site, the time and the guide or instructor. Show it on the phone or print it.
Divers scan it
After the dive, each diver scans the code and the dive is logged with your centre, even out of range.
What your centre gets
Remembered by name
Every customer's logbook names your centre, boat and guide, dive after dive, wherever they show it.
Verified as you
Only an approved centre can make codes in its name, and the app marks them as genuine.
Codes for everything
A code for each trip, made in seconds, and printed ones for your shop, each boat and each instructor.
Know your numbers
See how many dives are logged with you, by month and by boat. Counts only, never who.
Your team, your boats
Add your instructors, guides and divemasters, retire boats and people, and keep a log of who did what.
Free, with nothing to install
The portal is on the web. Your divers need only Diveology for iPhone, which is free.
Privacy, both ways
A code carries only the centre, the boat, the trip, the site and the guide's name. Scanning it sends nothing to the centre. The dive keeps which centre it was logged with, so the centre can count its dives, but a centre never sees divers' names, their dives or anything else in their logbooks. See the privacy policy.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes, for both. Divers scan codes in Diveology for iPhone, free, with no account needed. Dive centres get their account and portal free once we have approved them.
Does it need phone signal?
No. Everything the dive needs is in the code itself, with a signature the app checks on the phone, so it works on the boat, out of range.
What does the dive centre see?
How many dives were logged with its codes, by month and by boat, from divers whose logbooks are on Diveology. Never who logged them, and never anything else from your logbook.
What if my dive already has a site or a buddy?
A code only fills in what your dive does not have yet, and shows you what it will fill in before you log it. You can change anything afterwards, like any other part of your dive.
Can someone print a code that pretends to be a dive centre?
No. Codes are signed by Diveology, and only dive centres we have checked and approved can make them. The app shows a tick for a genuine code and refuses any other.
How long does a trip's code work?
A day and a half from the trip's start, so it can be scanned on the boat or that evening. Printed codes for a centre, a boat or an instructor do not expire.
