Divers' eyes on the reefs you study
Marine parks, universities, research institutes and conservation groups can have a free Diveology research account: ask the divers who dive your sites what they see, and get their anonymised answers in your own portal.
What you get, free
- Your own research portal on the web, for you and your colleagues. No app needed.
- Survey campaigns: choose the area and the dive sites you want surveyed, the dates, and the questions: water and visibility, coral condition and bleaching, crown-of-thorns starfish, pollution, sea life and its condition.
- Divers asked at the right moment: divers in Diveology's ocean survey who log a dive at one of your sites are asked after their dive, and can be sent a notification when a campaign starts near their sites.
- Reports: the answers on a map and site by site, water temperatures from divers' dive computers, and downloads for your own analysis.
Your account is ready once we approve it. Campaigns and reports are being built now and arrive in your portal as each part is finished.
How divers take part
Diveology divers choose to join the ocean survey, and can leave it or leave out any dive at any time. Every answer is picked from a list, never typed, so the answers can be counted and compared across sites, campaigns and years. Your reports never show who a diver is: no names, the day of the dive but not the time, and a site's answers only once several divers have answered there.
